Firefox address bar shorcut
This is one of those little tidbits that I fee like I should've known a long time ago, but for some reason I didn't.
When I initially made the switch from a PC to a Mac one of my more frequent gripes was that when I clicked on the address bar to enter a url, I would have to triple-click it to highlight whatever text was already in the address bar. This annoyed the crap out of me since on a PC the entire url is highlighted with only a single click.
Why was I having to click so much? I thought Macs were supposed to "just work".
Well, I've found a solution. If you already knew this, then please just bear with me. All you have to do is press APPLE + L and your cursor automatically jumps to the address bar and highlights the entire url, which helps you two-fold. Number one, you don't have to deal with any of this triple-clicking tom-foolery, and two, now you don't even have to lift your hand from the keyboard.
Amazing. It's the little things in life, you know?
